" The day-to-day living in a clean and sober environment is priceless... "

"Not only do I get help from those around me, but I also get to give hope to others as well."
What is inspiration? Can you go out and get it or does it just come to you in some miraculous moment? The reason we are asking is because inspiration can be a very powerful force in the process of recovery. If you have started to make positive changes in your life, then a little inspiration can keep you moving in the right direction.
There is a page on the website that describes an a-ha! moment for the founder of Rehabilitation Living Foundation. In that moment he realizes that he is going to compete in a Triathlon. There are many stories of these kinds of moments. However, not all of us have these moments.
I am planning a big sailing trip next year. Did I suddenly realize that I wanted to sail the seven seas. No. It started by taking a couple of fun classes, then meeting someone with a boat and going on small trips. Then finding a beat up old boat for practically nothing and fixing it up, learning new skills as I went along.
So far it has been a three year process and at no point did I have an a-ha! moment. Yet, it has become something that is now and positive and enjoyable part of my life. So, I feel quite comfortable in saying that sailing 'inspires' my life.
Wherever you are there are things you can do to inspire your life, from volunteer work, art, or many other activities. If inspiration doesn't hit you on the head like a brick, give it some time. You will find that if you are patient and positive, your life can become inspired.
